About NASA ePDN

The NASA Electronic Professional Development Network (ePDN) program, located at the Georgia Institute of Technology campus, brings together multiple partners to tackle developing effective electronic professional development courses for use in NASA programs and by STEM teachers across the nation. The three Georgia Tech partners are the Distance Learning and Professional Education (DLPE) department, the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing (CEISMC), and ORBIT Education, Inc, a NASA-themed educational service provider.

These partners collaborate with scientists and engineers from NASA, from Georgia Tech, and from industry to bring STEM content to teachers through modular-based ePD courses, and through shorter self-paced courses and events. Our courses are designed to emphasize best practices, incorporating inquiry learning, case-based scenarios, and data analysis actively into the programs. They are also designed to promote teachers' use of new communication tools such as video sharing, podcasting, visualizations, social networking and other online platforms.

The ePDN is one of three activities that make up NASA's Learning Environments & Research Network (LE&RN), which is a project within the K-12 program of NASA's Office of Education.
